Medical Billing Manager

SynaMed (http://www.synamed.com) is an innovative Electronic Health Record Software and Billing Company based in New York City focused on small to medium practices.


Synamed is currently seeking an experienced Medical Billing Services Manager.  Responsible for the development and outcomes of the Insurance Claim Revenue Cycle Operations; including Accounts Receivable and Claim Denial Follow-up Operations of the Medical Billing Services. The business is in a significant growth phase and theMedical Billing Services Operations Manager will initiate the evolution of standardizing processes and workflows.  This will include developing a scalable business model with a focus on increasing client KPIs and first pass claims paid rates. 


  • Successful execution of all operational aspects related to Insurance Claims, Denials and Accounts Receivable.
  • Establishes clearly defined department and individual goals and objectives and communicates these to associates through department meetings and performance planning.
  • Hire train and support associate development ensuring timely and effective training is provided, both formal and on-the-job, to enhance the skill base of the team.
  • Manages Supervisors and other management level staff ensuring continuity of associate engagement and service delivery over multiple teams.
  • Develop and manage to KPIs and dashboards for increasing client satisfaction, outcomes and retention. · Standardization of processes and workflows for efficient and optimized delivery of service that meets the customer expectations in cost effective manner.
  • Leverage industry best practices and proven service delivery frameworks to get most effective results. ·
  • Help define, achieve and report client focused key performance metrics and other key functions within the business.
  • Develop short and long term business and delivery models that gives insights and predictability into key cost contributors.
  • Help evolve the Product for the most effective execution of processes working closely with the overall Leadership team.
  • Continue to drive the business to a profitable, high growth business with resilient processes oriented to achieving customer and business objectives.


  • Bachelor or Associate Degree or equivalent in education and experience required.
  • 10+ years in Medical Billing space.
  • 5+ years experience Managing a Billing Service team.
  • Expertise in understanding business processes and workflows, re-engineering and building resilient and scalable processes leveraging technology and process frameworks integrated effectively with Human Resources for effective execution.
  • Experience in working in multiple geography service delivery model having and development of information systems for seamless service delivery across multiple time zones is a plus.
  • Strong people management experience, having managed operations teams with some built from ground up. Ability to manage associate development, subject matter expertise development and sustained service delivery with continuous improvements in productivity and quality over a period of time.
  • Passion for service excellence with deep client focus and translating similar passion into teams.
  • Ability to work in hyper growth and dynamic work environment involving multiple cultures and sub cultures in an effective and collaborative manner.
  • Result orientation with demonstrated ability to work with top leadership to translate high level business vision into specific targets relevant to his / her function, communicate effectively across hierarchy and align organization towards achieving them.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to relate with stakeholders across different levels and functions to establish a collaborative work environment oriented towards meeting organization goals.
